Autumn 2016 Update
2016 marks 10 years since the Shrewsbury 24 Campaign was re-established. We are now at a very crucial time in the running of the case. We have built the political profile of the case and brought to trade unionists attention what happened to the 24 Shrewsbury pickets in 1973. We continue to be supported by many national Trade Unions, Trades Councils and CLP’s. We have been invited to send speakers to many union branch meetings, where are given a wonderful reception.
The Campaign had a stand at the Labour Party Conference. We were welcomed by MP’s John McDonnel David Anderson Ian Mearns and many others throughout the 4 days. Supporters who had been affiliated to us for many years were delighted to meet campaign members. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in his keynote speech to the Conference pledged to help us in any way he can. This is welcome news for us as we put pressure on Theresa May to release all the documents relating to the Shrewsbury trials.
The applications to the CCRC were submitted on 3rd April 2012.

We now have Mike Mansfield QC leading our legal team. We are delighted to have Mike with us. Mike has long years of experience in dealing with similar cases to ours i.e. Hillsborough and Orgreave. His presence has leant strength to our case.
